Day 57 - 11/28/22 - At Sea to Adelaide, Australia

It was definitely rocking and rolling overnight.  We woke up to the Seattle Seahawks football game against the LV Raiders.  The Lido was really crowded for breakfast and while I was eating an elderly gentleman fell during one of the rolling motions.  He was quickly assisted by crew and appeared to be okay.  I missed the coffee chat with Dr. Woodman, but Angela said it was good.

We did attend her lecture on the differences between spoken and written language and it was pretty good, but seemed a bit elementary to me.

During lunch the Captain told us that the rough seas would continue although they were projected to improve for the most part.  The Covid numbers were up today to 20 passengers and 3 crew in isolation.  It was super crowded in the Lido and help was scarce.

The highlight of the afternoon was the Ask The Captain session.  This the third one for this voyage and it was every bit as good as the prior ones.  When one passenger complained about there being no Aussie meat pies, there was a loud crowd response saying they were served yesterday at dinner which Captain Wouter affirmed.  He then took the next step and offered to have a meat pie delivered to the gentleman's stateroom.  That's customer service.  Chris, our Cruise & Travel Director said that he's never had a Captain order room service for a passenger. During the followup Q&A session, Angela showed the gentleman a picture of the pies.  There was also a great show of appreciation towards Captain Wouter for his manner of Captaining this voyage.  He's been the best Captain we've ever sailed with from a passenger's perspective.

We spent much of the rest of the afternoon reading and watching the stormy waves.  The outside decks were closed off.  We sailed all day at over 19 knots after having to slow down during the night due to winds and waves and should have built up a margin to be able to arrive in Adelaide by 2pm tomorrow.  There's some tricky navigation to accomplish tomorrow.

In the evening we watched the 7pm final Cantaré show Stage & Screen and then stayed to watch the 9pm set. It's a powerful set that starts with the song The Greatest Show from the movie The Greatest Showman which I really like and have seen multiple times.  It was also time to begin planning flights for our return visits to Tasmania  after the cruise is over and the flights home after that.

Here's a couple of flower pictures to brighten up the day.  They were in the flower arrangement outside of the Pinnacle Grill.

With tomorrow's arrival in Adelaide not until approximately 2pm, we may just take the light rail into the city and look around again.  We were here previously in 2016.  The following day we have an all day excursion outside of the city.
